Remo Stars Defeat Ekiti United

Remo Stars FC failed to pick any point in the rescheduled Nigeria National League (NNL) match day 7 clash at Ekiti United.

Despite taking the lead the Sky Blue Stars went down 1-2 to Ekiti United in the Saturday’s NNL clash decided at the Olukayade Stadium in Ado Ekiti.

Remo Stars captain and goal scorer, Victor Mbaoma described the loss as a bitter pill to swallow to surrender one goal lead with few minutes to end football hostilities.

“It’s difficult to describe how I feel at the moment, we had couple of chances we did not convert before I scored and afterward we failed to clear our lines.

“The result is difficult to accept because we worked very hard and even played far better to deserve the maximum points here but it was not meant to be at the end of the day.

“Too bitter the defeat going in front in a crucial match and losing the entire three points not even a point to console or compensate our efforts,” said Mbaoma to supersport.com.

Remo Stars will travel down to the Rojenny Stadium in Oba to take on Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars in the Federation Cup round of 16 clash on Wednesday.

Only 12 fans show up to watch Chelsea training

It appears Premier League champions Chelsea, are not very popular in Montreal, as only 12 fans turned up to watch them train.

The Blues have begun preparation for their US tour and following their arrival in Canada on Wednesday, Jose Mourinho led a double training session the next day.

Only a dozen supporters were present to see the players arrive at the Montreal Impact training ground on Friday morning. The number increased to 50 by the time the team were done and ready to leave.

Other English heavyweights like Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool, have enjoyed a good following with hundreds of fans showing up at various events and games.

The Gunners for instance, beat Everton 3-1 on Saturday afternoon, in front of 52,107 spectators – a new Barclays Asia Trophy record.

5 Main Reasons Why Nigerian Girls Date 'yahoo' Guys

Over the years, Nigeria topped the chart for internet fraud. In Nigeria these internet fraudsters are tagged as "Yahoo Guys". After cajoling their way to get thousands/millions of dollars from gullible individuals, they in turn spend this stolen money on cars and women.

They are known to be very extravagant. But even with the illegal act these guys engage in, its not surprising they are always surrounded with different kind of ladies. And some ladies also prefer to date these fraudsters even when they are well aware of the illegal act they engage in.

I will be showing you 5 Reasons Why Girls Prefer to date Yahoo Guys

1. Extravagant Spending : Money earned from defrauding others is more like free money, hence no proper planning on how to spend it. They sit inside their room (hideout) for few days/weeks and then just walk to the bank to withdraw money they didn't really work for. Well, most Nigerian girls don't care how the money is gotten, as long as the money is present and they get anything they request for. So when it's pay day for yahoo guys, girls are next.

2. Party & Clubbing : Most ladies love clubbing, although not all know how to dance. But they enjoy the fun and all. After a yahoo guy gets his pay, its party time. Since ladies are aware of this, they don't miss the chance to go out and have all the fun. A yahoo will spend some chunk of his money to celebrate like he just won the presidential election.

3. Romance : Every lady loves a man who can show her romance, yahoo guys are sweet talkers, they've got that sugar-coated tongue, little wonder they know how to talk their way to defrauding individuals. If a yahoo guy can sweet talk a 70 year old to sending him money with fake promises of marriage. They are players, they know to sweet talk a lady and get her. Ladies love sweet words, hence they love yahoo guys.

A yahoo guy always have time for his lady, when a he isn't glued to his computer, he is with his girl. Every lady loves a who can satisfy her when her libido is high. An idle yahoo is always there to give her the s3x when she wants it.

4. Show Off : Ladies love to have a guy they can proudly introduce to their friends, a guy with the car and all the swag. They love to be tagged as the girl dating the big boy. With all the cars, gadgets a yahoo guy possesses, ladies want to hangout with them. Moving with friends in their fleet of cars (Probably Another Camry), you find a lady next to him in the front seat saying 'hi's' and 'hello' to any of her friends who crosses her path.

5. Believing There Is Room For Change : Ladies think they can convince a bad guy to change when they go into a relationship, even when clearly they are not Buhari. When ladies go into a relationship with a yahoo with the hope of changing him, they should also know they are trying to restrict their source of income in the process. When it becomes difficult for a lady to change a yahoo guy, they become stuck in the relationship.

Conclusion: Although the rate of fraudsters has dropped significantly in recent years, due to the strict punishment attached to internet fraud. Some guys still carefully carry out this illicit act. It's not advisable to date a fraudster, because often times even the benefactor becomes the accomplice.

I Was Getting N1 million Per Movie Before I Left Nigeria – Shola Shobowale

Sola Shobowale

Beats, the delectable actress stated that she earned as much as N1m per feature before she left the country. She is staging a comeback and seems upset with the state of the industry

When I left Nigeria, I took the industry along with me. The industry was very fantastic when I left but the reverse is the case now.

I am here to make it better. During my time I was earning as much as a million naira for a movie feature. Now, people are producing movies with N500,000.

God bless those that are endorsing entertainers because without them, people would be crying. How many actors are living solely on acting? Most of them do businesses by the side.

When you see a doctor, he faces his hospital solely but we are still struggling. Before I left Nigeria, my children went to the best schools in the country because I know the value of education. I raised them up solely with the money I made from acting.

Their tertiary education would have been in Nigeria but the education system was nothing to write home about. The industry is bad but we are going to change it. Things are very bad now.

The quality of our production is very bad. When I was in the UK, I was coming to Nigeria to produce movies. I made my money back on a few but I lost out on a lot.

There was a movie I invested N5m on but did not make more than N2m. We don’t have distribution channels and the government is not helping. We rebranded Nigeria and changed people’s perception of the country. Now, Nigeria is no more seen as a drug trafficking country.

Nigeria is the third largest movie producing country in the world but the government is doing nothing to help the industry,” she said. Currently working on her soap opera, Nectar, she explained that the series revolves round family matters.

She believes that the family values system in Nigeria is nothing to write home about. “We don’t have family values anymore and that is why my soap opera, Nectar, is about family life. Mothers don’t know their onions any more as their children are going astray.

My parents did not bring me up alone. It was a combined effort from friends, families and neighbours. There is nothing like that anymore,” she said.

Gunmen Kidnap Odi committee chairman

Odi community in Bayelsa State has been thrown into confusion following the abduction of Compensation Funds Disbursement Committee Chairman, Prof. Zibokere Daukiye by unidentified gunmen.

The riverine community has been engulfed in crisis since 1999 when federal troops under President Olusegun Obasanjo bombarded it to avenge the gruesome murder of security operatives by youths during the militancy era.

The community was awarded N 37.6 billion by a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, but was later paid N15bn by the government after negotiation.

The N15bn compensation paid the community by the government after series of legal actions has also unsettled the people in the area following alleged diversion of a chunk of the money.

It was gathered that Daukiye amidst controversies was appointed by stakeholders in the community to manage the disbursement of the compensation funds which had torn the people apart.

Divorce Case: Nigerian Actor Emeka Ike Becomes Sober, Begs Wife To Return Home

emeka ike
Nigerian Actor Emeka Ike in respond to the divorce case in his home reveals that indeed his marriage is in trouble but he wants his wife back for the sake of their children.

Emeka while speaking to Punch, he said thus; “Every family has its challenges and people disagree over issues a lot.

Marriage is not just about husband and wife but the children. I will not play with that mandate because my children are my prerogative and they have to be properly protected. Nobody should mess them up because of all these rumours.”

The popular actor however, said that he still love and adores his wife and pleads that she should come back home.

"If my wife says I am a wife beater, the children would have witnessed such. I have a 14-year-old boy who is grown and has mustache now, you can ask him if I have ever beaten his mother. Never in my life have I raised my hand to beat my wife.
I adore that woman and I love her a lot. If she wants to use my love against me, no problem and if people do not believe me, they should go to my former residence in Lagos to ask my neighbors if they ever heard that I beat my wife.

Rather when my wife starts making noise like women normally do, I use that period to train my children. I would ask my children like this, ‘what do you do when a woman begins to nag at home?’

They would tell you that the next thing to do is pick your car keys and drive off. That is the normal training I give my sons so that they would never beat their wives. If my wife wants to leave me, she should have just said that it is due to irreconcilable differences and not that I am a wife beater.

It would mean that she is trying to get unnecessary sympathy and I don’t think she would say such. When I showed my children what was on the internet, they were sad and said that it was a lie because I don’t beat their mother.

I am a father of four children and I must protect them first before I even protect myself. That is why I would never say any bad thing about their mother.

EFCC’s Bogus Charges Discourages Service to Nigeria’

Network for National Integration (NNI), has expressed the worry that the scapegoating of some Nigerians by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was capable of discouraging those with good intentions from serving the country.

The group in a statement in Abuja on Friday, alleged that the case against Mr. Steve Orosanye who is accused of a 28-count charge of money laundry, theft and corruption was not only bogus but ridiculing a “man of integrity, loyalty and conscientiousness who painstakingly served three successive presidents and have made far-reaching recommendations for the survival of this country.”

In the statement jointly signed by Muideen Olaniyi and Mustafa Idriss, the NNI observed that it was in the nature of the anti-graft body to charge individuals with bogus charges only for them to fall like a pack of cards, stating that the matter of Orosanye will not be different because “the allegations against the former Head of Service is based on speculation and sponsored by a cabal given the obviousness of the implementation of some of his recommendations by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“It is in the nature of the EFCC to reel out incredible large number of charges. That was how they charged Femi Fani Kayode with some hideous charges only for it to drop to 2-count of N2million, which yet they could not prove. We are confident that this will be no different.”

The group called for the sack of Mr. Ibrahim Larmode, chairman of the EFCC alleging he was politically compromised and cannot be a judge in the matter of pension probe as he was part of the Pension Reform Task Team where he collected estacode for biometric trip he did not make as well as for meetings he failed to attend.

“We call on Mr. Larmode, chairman of the EFCC to resign honourably or we will embark on a campaign for his sack. Larmode cannot be a prosecutor and judge in this matter given that he collected estacode as a member of the biometric team to go abroad which he did not go, money for meetings he failed to attend.

“We challenge him to present his international passport to show if he went with the team for oversees biometric capture of pensioners abroad. He only returned the money when the Senate Committee on Establishment began looking into the matter of pension.”

Bishop To Buhari: Stop Reminding Us How PDP Ruined Nigeria, Start Work

The General Overseer of Trinity Gospel Mission, Delta State, Rt. Rev Diamond Emuobor, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to stop reminding Nigerians how the People’s Democratic Party ruined the country and instead, focus on his work of redemption.
President Muhammadu Buhari
Emuobor urged the President to go ahead and and lead Nigeria ‘out of the woods’ and stop complaining about the alleged ‘mishandling’ of the country by the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for 16 years.

According to an issued statement, Emuobor said Nigerians did not vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC for it to “lament the mishandling of Nigeria by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP but to fix the wrongs in the polity.”

He said, “Fix Nigeria with your APC manifesto and stop making excuses. Why has Buhari started shouting that his inability to meet his obligations was because money was stolen from the vaults of Nigeria?”

The cleric added that the president had not attempted any measure of relief promised by his party during election, rather he was busy lamenting over split milk.

“Bemoaning the decadence of the past administrations as the reason of APC’s inability to perform is to say the least, a defeatist agenda.

“Depending on America, Europe and other international organizations to come to donate money or help recover what was stolen before you can progress or succeed is a statement of failure; this is a plan of deceit on the Nigeria populace,” he said.

We will not let Ekiti people down - House Speaker

Kola Oluwawole
The Speaker, Ekiti House of Assembly, Mr Kola Oluwawole, has assured the people of the state that the legislative arm of the government would not shark its responsibilities.

Oluwawole, in a statement on Saturday in Ado Ekiti, said:“Ekiti people voted for us on April 11 in expectation of new things, and by the grace of God, the current 26 lawmakers have resolved to do their jobs well.

“We will not cheat the people, we will not cheat Gov. Ayodele Fayose; we will not wage war against Ekiti, we will not disappoint the people who voted for us.’’

The statement, signed by the speaker’s Special Assistant on Media, Mr Stephen Gbadamosi, was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

NAN reports that the 19 lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 7th Assembly had a frosty relationship with the PDP-led administration of Gov. Fayose.

Oluwawole said neither would the House be polarised nor would it bicker with the executive arm in the name of politics.

He reiterated the PDP-dominated House of Assembly’s determination to be part of the drive that would bring about the desired development in the state.

He noted that the bickering and faceoff between the former legislators and the governor were responsible for the ‘war’ that was waged against the state

FAYOSE TO BUHARI: “KEEP BOKO HARAM UNDER HOUSE ARREST, NOT OPPOSITION PARTY MEMBERS”

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has condemned the recent invasion and sealing-off of the Abuja and Sokoto residences of the immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) by men of the Department of State Services (DSS), saying; “persecution of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts and others perceived as opposed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government is an ominous sign of imminent return of dictatorship and draconian rule in Nigeria”.

Fayose, who said he still believed that the invasion of Dasuki’s homes may not have the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari, said; “if this is being done by some people to please the president, he should check the excesses of those behind it and call them to other because overzealousness by those that are close to the president is inimical to the image of the government”.

A statement issued in Ado-Ekiti by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka on Friday, Governor Fayose said he was sad that democracy is already being put on trial, less than two months that President Buhari assumed office, adding that; “Rather than invading homes of Nigerians and putting people under house arrest, the government should invade Boko Haram territories and arrest the insurgents”.

Fayose, who also condemned the persecution of Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, said; “the desperate plot to remove Senator Ekweremadu from office is dangerous to democratic rule in Nigeria because there is no portion of the Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution that made positions of Senate President and Deputy Senate President the exclusive rights of the political party with highest number of senators”.

READ: Buhari Should Stray Away From USA – Nigerians

He said; “President Buhari should rather keep Boko Haram under house arrest, not opposition party members. Those heavily armed security men that invaded Col. Dasuki’s Abuja and Sokoto homes should have been put to a better use by sending them to the Boko Haram ravaged North Eastern part of Nigeria.

“The president should keep the rising exchange rates of Dollar, Pound Sterling, Euro and other foreign currencies under house arrest. He should pay attention to governance, be guided by the rule of law and be for everyone and for nobody as he promised when he was sworn into office”.

While urging President Buhari to be magnanimous in victory by acting like a leader and father of all Nigerians, Fayose advised him against seeing his return to power as an opportunity to extract his pound of flesh from those perceived to have wronged him in the past.

The governor asked; “Was there any invitation by the DSS to Col. Dasuki that he refused to honour? Isn’t it worrisome that in this democratic age, security agents could in a commando-like invade the house of a former NSA to carry out his arrest when there is no record that he was invited and he refused to honour the invitation, or that he resisted arrest?

“Could Col. Dasuki’s present ordeal be as a result of his advice that the presidential election be postponed?

SEE Photos: Customer strips to his boxers at a bank in Nigeria

“Is this not an indication of an impending clampdown on PDP members and other Nigerians perceived not to be on the same page with the President Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government?

“We in the PDP supported our party during the presidential election like every other loyal party members should do, should this display of support for our party and its candidate now warrant persecution by the Federal Government?

“If Col. Dasuki actually committed any offence to warrant his arrest and questioning by the DSS or any of the country’s security agencies, shouldn’t warrant of arrest have been issued against him? Shouldn’t he have been invited by the DSS instead of invading his houses and sealing them off in a commando-liked manner?

“Nigerians must therefore rise against this emerging dictatorship and save the country’s democracy from imminent collapse because today, it is Col. Dasuki, tomorrow it can be any other person”.

Nigerian troops respond poorly to distress calls; I’ll change that — Army Chief

Tukur Buratai
The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, on Friday said the Nigerian army would re-strategize its operations to effectively defend any part of the country under threat.

Mr. Buratai said this in Damaturu at a Sallah party organised for soldiers serving in the state.

He said he was committed to building a professional and responsive army that would execute its constitutional responsibilities with high sense of commitment.

“My mission statement is to build a professional and responsive army because I have realised that although we have a professional army, the aspect of responsiveness is missing.

“Troops have failed to respond to distress calls that would have redeemed a situation, this has to stop under my watch. We will relate very well with other sister agencies to achieve our set goals.”

The COAS said he was also determined to ensure that army would continue to promote the unity of the country.

The Yobe governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, commended the political will exhibited by the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to eliminate insurgency in Nigeria.

He identified lack of political will and inadequate equipment as responsible for the prolonged security challenge in the country.

“The visit of the COAS to Yobe to meet soldiers in the frontline state on the very day he assumed office, indicates a new dawn in the fight against insurgency.”

Mr. Gaidam assured the readiness of his administration to support the fight against insecurity in the state.
