Policeman Kills Youth For Insisting On Sighting Election Result Sheet #result #Nigeriadecides #pollstream #2015election #breakingNews

A youth was on Saturday reportedly shot dead by a mobile police man at Ibiam street, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital for insisting on sighting the result sheets for the presidential and national assembly elections. INEC officers attached to the polling unit had allegedly. insisted on leaving with the ballot box after voting and but the youth insisted on seeing and ensuring that the results were entered into the result sheet.

Consequently, he was shot dead by a mobile police officer.

Why GMB May Not Get To Aso Rock Despite The Ongoing Overwhelming Victory #result #Nigeriadecides #pollstream #2015election #breakingNews

If the reports trending on social media about the elections conducted today across the country are anything to go by, the coast is getting obviously clear for GMB and National Assembly candidates of APC across the country. I however feel APC supporters should not celebrate yet because:
1- The results have not been officially declared by INEC
2- Anybody can claim victory, since such reports are not coming from INEC.
3- There are still areas where elections would be conducted tomorrow
4- it has happened in the past where what INEC declared varried from what people who directly participated in the elections calculated as results.
5- With the alarming cases of kilings, maimings, political clashes, intimidation and bombings since ystrday.
Then, there is this prediction I have given since February that one of this four things will happen:
1- GEJ wins and he's declared the winner( this is very unlikely)
2- GMB wins,but he's not declared
3- GMB wins,he's declared but they(GEJ) don't hand over to him.
4- There's no election at all(this appears to have been invalidated,as electios held today)
If you ask me,I'll tell you that GMB is the best man for the job at the moment, but I don't see him getting to Aso Rock..let's pray that God's will is done in Nigeria. I AM SCARED!

Election Results To Be Cancelled In Rivers State #result #Nigeriadecides #pollstream #2015election #breakingNews

Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has said that he believes that today’s presidential elections held in the State were irreparably compromised, and the results must be cancelled.
According to Sahara Reporter, Amaechi, All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, alleges that interference on the party of the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has adversely influenced the result of the contest. Claiming the PDP is working with officials and security agents to rig the contest by withholding result sheets, Amaechi says the results of the election today in Rivers cannot be trusted.
“The police [are] arresting everyone that is arrestable, the police carrying ballot boxes, they are also aiding PDP supporters,” Amaechi said.

He added all the election equipment and materials, especially result sheets, are in PDP agent hands. “I couldn’t vote. In the country, we’re doing very well. In Rivers State, we discovered that all the SPOs (supervising presiding officers) have stolen all the result sheets and disappeared. So we said that there will be no election until we see the result sheets.”

Amaechi claims he was accompanied by members of the press, for purposes of documenting the developments there. “I went with cameramen. I went with Channels, AIT and NTA. They did not see anywhere that we went to that you could identify that there were result sheets.”

Expressing his disappointment with INEC’s management of the electoral process in Rivers State, Amaechi also listed the names of officials he claims are working for the PDP, and how their affiliations ultimately jeopardize the contest. “Don’t forget that the INEC commissioner here was employed by the president,” he said. “So as far as she’s concerned, she says that there was an election and that all the result sheets are in the field.”

The two-term governor stated that voters in Rivers State should be calm, and not resort to violence. His statement comes as reports of violence grow, according to conversations with representatives from the CLEEN Foundation.

At the time of this report, yet another death was reported at a ward in Ogale, Eleme local government area in Rivers State. This joins a string of violent and criminal incidences that have characterized Election Day in the state.

Soldier, 3 Others Feared Dead In Rivers #result #Nigeriadecides #pollstream #2015election #breakingNews

At least one soldier, and three other are feared killed in various parts of Rivers State during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Brigade Commander, 2 Brigade, Port Harcourt, Brigadier General Koko Essien, said the soldier was killed when hoodlums opened fire on security agents on election duty in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state.

Apart from the soldier, three other person were killed in Tai, Eleme and Obio/Akpor local government areas of the state.

This is as members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in three local government areas of the state boycotted the elections due to the refusal of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide the result sheets for the elections.

The affected local government areas include; Gokana, Eleme and Ikwerre, the home-LGA of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

Meanwhile, actual voting started at about 1:40pm in most polling centres in Port Harcourt City, Obio/Akpor, Emohua and Khana local government area of Rivers State.

This is the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers State, Dame Gesila Khan, has approved the use of manual register in the accreditation of eligible voters, where the Card Reader failed.

Khan therefore advised eligible voters who have not been accredited to go back to their respective polling units to get accredited manually.

LEADERSHIP observed that in most polling units visited in Port Harcourt, Obio/Akpor, Abua/Odual, and Khana local government areas, the Presiding Officers adopted manual accreditation to enable then meet up the period provided for accreditation.

However, accreditation and voting on simultaneously in most of the polling unit in Abua/Odual locl government area of the state.

There were also reports of snatching of election materials in Abua/Odual, Akuku-Toru, and other local government areas of the state.

When contacted on the boycott of voting by voters in the three local government area of the state, INEC image-maker in the statw, Tonia Nwobu, said the Commission’s headquarters would decide on the next line of action.

I’m Hopeful Of Victory – Jonathan #result #Nigeriadecides #pollstream #2015election #breakingNews

President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed confidence he will win today’s presidential election.

Mr. Jonathan is seeking re-election as the Presidential Candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.

Addressing journalists after voting at unit 13, Otuoke, Bayelsa State, about 3.15 p.m, Mr. Jonathan said, “I am hopeful, very hopeful” when asked if he expected to win.

Speaking against the background of challenges being experienced in some areas in respect of the use of the card readers, the President urged Nigerians not to condemn the Independent National Electoral Commission.

He said INEC wanted to use the card readers to make Nigeria elections more credible and transparent. He added that Nigerians should “sympathise” with INEC.

The president said even though he received field reports from all over the country, he would not reveal the information he got, saying it is only “Jega (the INEC Chairperson) that can speak for INEC”.

He said the Governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime, had called him to express worry over the card reader problem in the South-East State. He said the governor was “boiling”, but that he told him to calm down.

He also dismissed insinuations that the card readers were only not working in the PDP-controlled States.

Mr. Jonathan, his wife, Patience and mother, Eunice arrived the polling units to vote around 3.03 pm. Even though he came two hours after voting ought to start, he was allowed to vote first, just like he did during the accreditation process.
256 voters were accredited at Mr. Jonathan’s unit.

Buhari, Jimi Benson In Early Lead In Ikorodu #result #Nigeriadecides #pollstream #2015election #breakingNews

General Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the party’s House of Representatives Candidate in Ikorodu, Babajimi Benson, have taken an early lead in some parts of Ikorodu Division, P.M. NEWS can authoritatively report.

The results of the voting in Oriwu Merchant Polling Unit 015 showed that Benson swept the polling unit with a total of 100 votes while his closest rival, Ola Animashaun of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, polled 80 votes.

In the Senatorial votes counted in the same area, APC polled a total of 101 votes as against the PDP’s 82 votes as counting for the Presidential candidates was still ongoing.

P.M.NEWS also gathered that in Ireshe area of Ikorodu Division, the legal practitioner alongside other APC candidates scored more votes than candidates of other parties.

While many other centres were still counting as at press time, several others were still conducting the voting exercise.

In Unit 13, Igbogbo, the voting exercise was still in progress where our correspondent scooped that a certain PDP chieftain in the area was giving out N1,000 to voters in a last minute bid to sway their allegiance.

Although our correspondent could not move close to take pictures, an APC stalwart in the area accosted them and they immediately pretended not to be involved in the illegal act.
