Ekiti Three Days Governor, Friday Aderemi Is Dead
Former Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Chief Friday Aderemi is dead.
Aderemi, who was acting governor of Ekiti State for three days (October 16 to 18,2006) died today.
He died at the State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti at about 11am today after a brief illness.
He was aged 74.
Aderemi became the acting governor of Ekiti State when the then governor, Ayodele Fayose and his deputy, Mrs Abiodun Olujimi were impeached.
His tenure was however shortlived as a state of emergency was declared three after he assumed office. He was replaced by General Adetunji Olurin, who was appointed Sole-Administrator by the then President Olusegun Obasanjo.
He was a member of the old Ondo State House of Assembly in 1983.
Chief Aderemi was appointed as a part time Chairman, Ekiti State Education Trust Fund by the State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, a position he held until his death.

Angry Youths Set Ibo Man Ablaze For Killing Landlord's Daughter in Ise-Ekiti
Palpable tension is said to be enveloping Ise Ekiti, Ise/Orun Local Government Area of Ekiti State as an Ibo man, who killed his landlord's daughter was set ablaze by angry youths yesterday.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ise Police Station was also attacked by the angry youths.
The Ibo man, identified as Austin, who is a trader was said to have shot dead the girl yesterday evening at Iro Oraye area of Ise Ekiti.
The man said to was be in his late 30s was taken to the palace of the Arinjale of Ise Ekiti, Oba Adetunji Ajayi to prevent being mobbed.
However, angry youths in their thousands, invaded the palace and took overpowered the palace guards before taking the Ibo man to the motor park where he was set ablaze.
An eyes witnesses said it was while the police was trying to rescue him that the DPO was hit in the head with a hard object.
Corpses of the Ibo man, already burnt beyond recognition and that of the girl have been taken to the mortuary by the police.
