Ladies, Please Don't Follow This Woman

See Photos: Borno deputy governor buried

This is a wrong advise. Young ladies should be more interested in the heart and intentions of who they are getting married to rather than if the engagement is going to last for only three months or three years.

Dear ladies, if the right man for you and your destiny will take three years to put his life on track before getting married to you, it is in your best interest to wait for him and support him.

Kaduna saves N221m for refusing to sponsor Hajj

Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State on Saturday said the state has saved N221.81m on its decision not to sponsor pilgrims to the 2015 Hajj.

The governor, in a state broadcast, had said the state had stopped the sponsorship of hajj operations.

He said the state had to save resources to be able to address other pressing matters such as qualitative education and health care.

El-Rufai, through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Samuel Aruwan, in a statement added that the state was saving the said amount on the decision it had taken.

The governor said no fewer than 5,682 citizens of the state would attend this year’s Hajj, to be supported by 116 officials.

He named the Emir of Birnin-Gwari, Alhaji Zubairu Jibril, as the state’s Ameer-ul-Hajj(head of delegation) to the 2015 Hajj operation.

According to him, with this, the government has completely eliminated the concept of government-sponsored pilgrims from the state

The governor, however, clarified that not sponsoring pilgrims was not the same thing as government not taking care of Kaduna State indigenes, who are paying their own way to the holy land.

He said: “The government recognises its duty to provide officials who will cater for the spiritual and welfare needs of the pilgrims.
“Therefore, the government will discharge its obligation to the pilgrims and send a delegation of guides, preachers, medical personnel, media professionals and pilgrim officers.

“The Kaduna State Government has given an update on the preparations to support pilgrims from the state to perform the Hajj smoothly.

“The government is saving N221.81m from the steps it has taken to reorganise the way pilgrimage is conducted.

“In recognition of this, Kaduna State has been selected as the state whose pilgrims will be the first to be flown out this year.

“This year, 5,682 citizens of Kaduna State will be going on the Hajj. The pilgrims will be supported by 116 officials..”

Obasanjo Explains How He Escaped Death 12 Times

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has given insight into how he has escaped death atleast 12 times in his 78 years on earth. He explained how he survived infant mortality, biten by scorpion and how he survived, how he escaped death at Ogun River where he had gone to learn swimming and how he had accidents uncountable times.

“Being one of two of my mother’s surviving children (out of seven), I must have had the grace of God to cross the hurdle of infant mortality. The other five never lived up to age one. The vicissitudes of rural life and limited resources did not guarantee survival for children born in my time and in the place I was born. Growing up in the village I was bitten by a scorpion once, and I survived it. The local herb and concoction applied by the native doctor worked in my case. I heard later that it did not work in some other cases.Obasanjo-launches-book.

“When I was in primary school in Abeokuta, I went to the Ogun River to try to swim. My friend and classmate who went with me urged me to dive with him into the water; I asked him to go in first and I would follow. He dived in and hit his head against a rock, and he never survived. My mother pulled my ear and warned me never to go to the river for swimming again. That marked the end of my attempt to learn swimming.

“When I was attached to the Welsh Guards in Pirbright, I had an accident while learning to drive. It could have been fatal for me and and for the oncoming motorcyclist, but we both survived. On returning to Nigeria, I had another accident in which the military vehicle I was driving without proper authority was a write-off. I survived with a fractured hand. As a young officer on a UN Peacekeeping Mission in the Congo Leopoldville, now Democratic Republic of Congo, I had an encounter with Congolese soldiers that could have been fatal.

“I returned home from the Congo and was posted to the Nigerian Army Engineers, where I had to learn to ride a motorcycle for reconnaissance purposes. I took a motorcycle ride out alone on training and had a nasty accident where, again, the motorcycle was damaged beyond repair, and I was saved by wearing a steel helmet. The story of my escaping death by the skin of my teeth during the civil war when four of my bodyguards died on the spot has been told elsewhere.

“When I left public office as a military head of state, I was appointed Distinguished Fellow of the University of Ibadan in the Institute of African Studies. I was given a house to stay in when I had work in the university. On one occasion, I was to give a lecture and to spend the night there; but curiously, I decided to inspect the whole building and the compound. I found, to everybody’s surprise, a neat hole cut through the glass window; and on the mosquito wire netting on the window was a hole close to the head of the bead, just big enough to accommodate the muzzle of a pistol. I never slept in that house again. The whole university community, and Professor Tekena Tamuno as the vice-chancellor, was alarmed.

“On my way from Abeokuta to Ogbomosho to attend the graduation ceremony of pastor Bolarinwa, who I sponsored to Baptist Theological Seminary, I was waylaid by armed robbers. They cut in front of my car to stop it, got out and shot into the air, and entered their car and drove off. Calmly, I got out of the car with my driver and other passengers. I came to understand that if they had known that I had been the one in the car, they would not have zeroed in on that car, or they would have killed me to avoid getting arrested. I also understood that the police followed them to a logical conclusion. In addition, I have heard all sorts of fetish stories about how people tried or were trying to kill me and how I escaped through supernatural powers. I neither believe in nor practice anything fetish.

“My greatest escape from untimely death was brought about through the machinations and snares of Abacha. Even that was God’s doing.”

PDP Chairman, Timi Alaibe, And 1,000 Others Defect To APC Ahead Of December Elections

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, retired Colonel Sam Inokoba; the former director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Timi Alaibe; and over 1,100 Party leaders on Saturday left the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing a political rally at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex, Mr. Inokoba said that they were crossing over to APC because the PDP-led state government has derailed from its original objectives.
He said that they were disenchanted with the leadership style of Governor Seriake Dickson, which he said had abandoned the tenets of good governances, as well as bemoaned the lack of internal democracy in the PDP. Mr. Inokoba also mentioned that PDP was bedeviled by endless intra-party squabbles and manipulation by the PDP governor.

He said that he was moving into APC with his followers from 105 wards in the state and urged the Bayelsa people to shun their qualms and embrace change.
In his remarks, Mr. Alaibe noted that he was not changing for the sake of change but to steer the state from poverty to prosperity.
He said that a state as endowed as Bayelsa had no business with poverty. Mr. Alaibe regretted that the state had not benefitted from its natural endowments and pledged to work to install an APC government.
During the ceremony receiving the APC’s new members, brooms were handed over to Mr. Inokoba, Mr. Alaibe, Heineken Lokpobiri, Jonathan Omu, Nestor Binabo, Gideon Okiwe, Major Andrew Oputa (rtd.), and Charity Bolaragbo, amongst others.

“Buhari if you send people to my house again, I will mention their names live on air. Don’t try that nonsense with us. I have not sent anybody to your daughter. I know her hostel – where she is staying. Because I believe in an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. I’ve told you that before. If you like you can try.
I will sacrifice everything I have to get Biafra. I don’t think you can do that to sustain “one Nigeria”, can you? Don’t underestimate our madness. I need you to understand that. I will give everything to make sure Biafra comes.
Will you sacrifice your family for “One Nigeria”? Ask yourself that question before you send other idiots to my place. Because if they come again, they may not go back. I am telling you that.”

Buhari must ensure Niger-Delta does not heat up again – Orubebe

Leader of the Niger Delta groups and the President/Founder of Concerned Niger-Delta Youths Initiative (CNDYI), Ebis Orubebe, in this interview with Vanguard spoke on why the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost the 2015 presidential polls and how to maintain peace in the Niger-Delta region.
He said:

There was serious internal crisis within the PDP, which led to the defection of some important members including governors, legislators and other leaders. Secondly, this insecurity challenge, especially Boko Haram, was a key factor the opposition took advantage of.
Thirdly, you know Nigeria politics; politics of North and South. Some northern leaders accused Dr Goodluck Jonathan of refusing to honour the zoning agreement. I do not know when that agreement was reached, where it was discussed. That was a key factor, the entire North felt power should return to the region. Also, some persons within the party did not do well. We see it as a betrayal, the way they lost scandalously in their areas.

READ: FG won’t give up anti-corruption war –Osinbajo

In regards to increased insecurity in the country he said:
When the Boko Haram insurgency started many Nigerians felt it was just Jonathan’s problem. So people rather than joining him to fight they were busy blaming him. Even the people from places where this crisis is going on were seeing it as just Jonathan’s problem. So that is how it basically got to this point. As we can see, this problem has gone beyond just Nigeria.
These people have connections with ISIS, Al-Qaeda and other international terrorist organizations. I will call on all Nigerians to support the current President and the government, to see how we would put hands together and fight it.

In regards to the resurrection of the crisis in the Niger-Delta region under President Buhari, he said:

Even before the election there were some set of youths, let me call them ex-agitators who threatened that if Jonathan was not re-elected they were going to take up arms again.
We reached out to these agitators and some youth leaders to take the result of the elections. I still see some forms of threat, especially on the part of the ex-agitators; arising from what is going on in the current government, which I may call witch-hunt. As of last count, we have three aides to the former president from the Niger Delta, who are being detained and no one has come up to tell us the reasons for their detention. I have my fears, because I know the role we played to make sure that there is peace in the region; and if this witch-hunt is not halted with immediate effect, I doubt that we will continue to enjoy peace in the Niger-Delta.

READ: Meet Single Wealthy Nigerian Ladies [PHOTOS]

As a group, we are still planning some programmes to bring the youths together. First and foremost, looking at the crisis in the North-Eastern part of the country, we want to work with the youths over there because they are our brothers, and anything happening there affects every one of us. We are also planning programmes and activities that will continue to foster peaceful co-existence among Niger-Delta youths.
We have been trying to bring various warring factions and youth groups in the region together to maintain peace. We are planning a meeting with the newly elected leaders in the region, especially the governors and legislators, to see how we can pursue a common goal, which is the development of the Niger-Delta, peacefully.
In President Muhammadu Bahari’s inaugural speech, he promised to improve on programmes that were already in place and that Niger-Delta in particular will have a special place in his government. So, we are hoping that he will keep to his promise. You are the President/Founder of Concerned Niger-Delta Youths Initiative (CNDYI), what is the group about?
The aim of this group is to promote peace and unity among Niger-Delta youths in particular and Nigerian youths in general. It was formed as a result of the polarization of youths’ groups over the years which has become a tool in the hands of selfish politicians with their divisive tendencies and other Niger-Delta forces.
We set up this group to bring these youths together in order to foster unity among them as leaders of tomorrow.
