The Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Muhammadu Abdullahi Gana has called for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians irrespective of their differences saying it is only in a peaceful atmosphere that development can take place....
The CG made this call at a 5-day training programme titled “Training on Principles and Practice of Alternative Dispute Resolution for NSCDC Peace Desk Officers” held at the NSCDC Academy in Abuja yesterday.
The training which was organized by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) was to help the participants understand the dynamics and applicability of mediation and conciliation as strategies for conflict management and to acquire leadership and team building skills that will sharpen their professionalism in conflict handling.
The CG who was represented by Assistant Commandant General in charge of Crisis Management directorate, Mr Amos Musa Andekin, said every Nigerian must embrace peace for the nation to achieve its set goals and move forward.
