Ebonyi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Chief Donatus Njoku, has said that the activities of five illegal miners operating in Abakaliki has been uncovered by the government...
He made this disclosure while reacting to the three months deadline given to mineral resources speculators by the Federal Government to register or have their licenses terminated.
The commissioner said he had forwarded the names of the illegal miners to the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals for necessary action after thorough investigations. Njoku said government will no longer tolerate activities of such operators at the expense of public interest. He described the state as investment destination especially for miners and stressed that the area had abundant deposit of limestone, zinc, marbel and lead.
