Investment (IFC) ( world bank openings for africans )

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector. IFC finances investments, mobilizes capital in international financial markets, facilitates trade, helps clients improve social and environmental sustainability, and provides technical assistance and advisory services.


 In FY14, IFC invested $17.2 billion for our own account in about 600 projects and mobilized more than $5 billion to support the private sector in developing countries. Investment Officers are responsible for identifying, structuring, closing and monitoring IFC’s loans and investments, and managing relationships with clients.


Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in finance/investment, including investment banking, project finance, private equity, corporate finance, portfolio management or financial consulting.
    • Senior Investment Officer – at least 8 years of relevant experience
    • Associate Investment Officer/Investment Officer – at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • MBA or Master’s in Finance or similar degree.
  • Strong credit assessment and investment structuring skills, knowledge of relevant industry sector trends, sound business judgment and problem solving and negotiation skills, ability to develop new business and manage relationships with clients, and willingness to travel extensively; geographic flexibility preferred.
