1. Oranges:
Not only is the vitamin C from oranges great for maintaining healthy hair, it can also be great for your teeth. It may be a bit surprising, but citrus fruits like oranges and grapefruits are packed with vitamin C that helps reduce inflammation of the gums and also helps to strengthen the blood vessels and tissues that connect your teeth to your jaw. So remember to think citrus when it comes to keeping your dental hygiene in check.
2. Strawberries:
Another fruit that is packed full of vitamin C is strawberries. Half a cup of strawberries can deliver more than 70% of your RDA of vitamin C allowing your body to create the protein collagen, which helps maintain strong, healthy gums. Healthy gums play a key role in good oral health, so add some strawberries to your diet on a daily basis.
3. Milk:
Last on our list is milk, and while this may not be a food, the high source of calcium and phosphorus that milk provides, plays a big role in fighting against gum disease, and helping you to maintain healthy teeth. Dairy products like milk and cheese are a great way to get calcium to your diet on a regular basis, so be sure to these to your diet where possible.
Have you any recommendations? Have we missed any of your favourite foods from our list?
