Everybody at the plenary session of the Lagos State House on Monday heard clearly when she shouted “Order! Mr Speaker.”
NairaNaijaNews reports that the voice was of Oyindamola Olorogun, the first female sergeant-at-arms to bear the mace in the 41 years history of the Lagos Assembly.
It was a sight to behold when Mr Olorogun led Speaker Mudashiru Obasa into the chambers for the day’s proceeding.
Visiting members from the Borno State House of Assembly were particularly impressed as they were seeing her for the first time.
Olorogun is, however, not the only female member of the Sergeant-at-Arms Corps of Lagos House of Assembly, NairaNaijaNews reports.
What stands her out is the historic feat of being the first woman to bear the house’s symbol of authority
1. Born in 1987, Olorogun is 33 years old.
2. She is a mother of two.
3. Olorogun holds an HND from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
4. She joined the Lagos House of Assembly Service Commission in 2019.
