The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq attends Africa Investment Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa in continuation of his resolve to open up the state for massive economic growth and development by way of attracting investors.
The Governor, coming from the private sector since taking office in May have leveraged on his experience in the sector which has resulted in meetings with several existing and intending international investors with a view to partnering and exploring the huge business opportunities in the state in line with his economic growth plan.
AbdulRazaq is in Johannesburg to showcase the economic potentials of Kwara to investors and seek private sector partnerships in infrastructural development.
During the Forum, at one of the sessions, the Governor discussed robust plan to create a Special Economic Zone in Kwara with major players in the private sector that included the Premier of Gauteng, David Makhura, President, Africa Development Bank, Mr. Akinwumi Adesina, CEO Olam Africa, Venkataramani Srivathsan, his counterpart from Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu and other investors. He said the zone, when created, will help facilitate the export of agro-products like cashew, sugar, among others as Kwara looks forward to exploring its agricultural potentials.
