Notorious assassins have ended the life of a man after they ambushed him and shot him at close range. Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State was left in a state of commotion on Monday evening as another man was killed by unidentified gunmen in broad daylight.
The sad incident came barely three days after a close ally of former Gov. Segun Oni, Mr. Bunmi Ojo was assassinated in the capital.The man was shot at a junction close to the end of the newly constructed overhead bridge at the Okesa/Ojumose Area of the ancient town at about 5:30pm on the 16th Of August 2018.
According to the witnesses, the victim, who was said to be a passenger on a commercial motorcycle, popularly called Okada, was allegedly pursued to the area where he was later killed by his assailants.It was gathered the killers who also came to the scene on another Okada, ordered the operator of the commercial motorcycle conveying the victim to stop at the spot where he was killed and sped-off immediately they achieved their aim.
However, the assailants spared the operator of the Okada. The body of the shot passenger had since been moved to an undisclosed hospital by sympathizers who felt he could still survive, as he bled profusely. The incident led to sudden closure of many shops in and around the Bisi Market located close to the area by their owners, even as many residents who either witnessed or got wind of the killing hurriedly left for their homes .
