Nigerian Troops of the 153TF Battalion of the Nigerian Army have rescued 15 women, five children and a man from Boko Haram captivity. According to military sources, the captives were freed when the troops conducted a fighting patrol in areas of Boko Haram prevalence. The operation was led by Lieutenant Colonel Ikang, Commanding Officer of the Battalion.
During the patrol, an unspecified number of Boko Haram members were killed. Troops also recovered two AK 47 rifles and an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) previously taken away Boko Haram. However, the APC had been destroyed by the terrorists.
