Brentford FC has secured the signing of Nigerian-born Irish forward Chiedozie Ogbene, who is subject to international clearance. The 20-year-old completed his move on Monday, in the wake of completing his medical.
Chiedozie had been on trial with The Bees not long ago and has penned a three-and-a-half-year contract after an undisclosed fee was agreed with Ireland club side Limerick FC.
Chiedozie moved to Ireland in 2005 and started his professional with Cork City. He made his full debut at the age of18 in a 1-0 win over Bohemians on the last day of the 2015 League season.
He featured eight times in the league for the Rebel Army the following season, scoring his first goal in a 3-0 win over Shamrock Rovers, as Cork finished second-place.
The 20-year old also featured twice off the bench, including an appearance in the Final, as Cork won the FAI Cup and also playing in each of the four of Cork City’s UEFA Youth League matches.
