Borno Governor, Kashim Shettima alongside his colleague from Gombe, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo are presently in Uyo to honour a foremost Borno businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Muhammad Indimi who is being conferred with an Honourary Doctorate by the University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State...
The event is taking place at the main campus of the University at a combined 22nd & 23rd Convocation Ceremony for the award of First Degrees, Post Graduate Degrees, Honorary Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates to successful students.
Indimi is being honoured by the University in recognition of what the school described as his outstanding contributions to the development of the University of Uyo and humanity.
Governor Shettima’s participation at the event is to also in appreciation of Indimi’s contributions towards the ongoing rebuilding of communities destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents in different parts of Borno State. It can be recalled that weeks ago, Indimi had launched a multi-million project for the construction of two hundred houses for returning displaced persons in Bama and Ngala local government areas of Borno State.
Dignitaries at presently in Uyo to support the ongoing event. The Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Moses Ekpo, Emir of Kano, HRH Muhammad Sanusi II, the Chancellor, University of Uyo and Emir of Hadejia, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Adamu Maje, CON, some Royal Father’s and top Government officials are amongst those at the event.
