The Nigerian prisons service, NPS, has reacted to reports that high profile kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike alias Evans plotted to escape prison custody.
It was widely reported that Evans had allegedly offered a $100,000 dollars to one of the guards stationed at his prison cell to organize his escape.
Public relations officer of the Nigerian prisons, Francis Enobare told journalists at the KiriKiri medium security prisons, Lagos command, Apapa that the reports were 'false'.
"It is not true that Evans plotted to escape from our custody. He is in high spirit and he sees his lawyers as he wants. He has never plotted to escape since we took custody of him. The security around him is very tight; all our prisons are well fortified."
