Ms Dooshima Dennis’s – who hails from Benue State shares some of the safety tips on her IG page. See below…

… Do you know that if a fire starts in your home you may have as little as two minutes to escape? During a fire, early warning from a working smoke detector plus a fire escape plan that has been practiced regularly can save lives. Smoke detectors can also come with an escape light. When the alarm sounds, the light comes on,the light can help you see your way out,and it is good for alerting people whose hearing is not perfect. For people who are hard of sleeping or deaf, there are smoke detectors systems for deaf. When the alarm goes off, a pad below the pillow vibrates(if you are asleep) a stable light flashes alerting you or waking you up instantly. Install smoke detectors on every level of your home or offices, inside your bedrooms and outside sleeping areas.(should be fitted as close to your ACs or anywhere you have got large electrical appliances ). Test them every month. If they are not working change batteries. They need very little maintenance. Use soft brush attachment to remove dust from sensors. After 10years of use get a new one. Am still giving some out, your life. Your property. Stop the fire.
