Kogi Poly students riot over death of colleague killed by Dangote truck (Photos)

Information reaching the our newsdesk this morning reveals that Students of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja have blocked the Lokoja-Abuja highway following a fatal accident involving a Dangote truck.

About five people have reportedly died in resulting multiple accidents. A student of the polytechnic is one of the casualties. There is serious tension now at international market, along Lokoja-Abuja highway.

The traffic light at the junction is has been vandalized by the angry youths. Police officers have since arrived at the scene and they fired tear gas to disperse the protesters but had to retreat when they exhausted the teargas they came with. As at the time of filing this report, a reinforcement of anti-riot policemen were on their way to the area now.
