Someone is fighting for Wizkid’s musical rights in America.
American rapper, Joe Budden has accused American artistes of copying Wizkid’s music style, but refusing to support him.
This conversation started on an American podcast show called ‘Everyday Struggle’ where the rapper sat down with other musicians to analyse Afrobeats music.
Joe Budden said Afrobeats became popular after Wizkid’s collaboration with Drake on 'One Dance', and now American artistes are reaping off this style in their songs, but are not promoting him or buying his album.
“Wizkid’s album came out. We’ve never talked about it, and it’s amazing. I don’t think that it is fair that all you niggas can steal Wizkid’s Carribean-bleeping steal and flow and songwriting and not buy the bleeping album” he said.
