Actor Sonny Landham passed away this week from congestive heart failure. He was 76 years old.
Further details are unknown, but he passed away on Thursday (Aug. 17) in a hospital in Lexington, Ky.
Landham was part Seminole and part Cherokee, and likely best known for portraying Native American tracker Billy Sole in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s classic 1987 action film, Predator.
If you saw the movie, you probably remember the epic scene when he tries to go one-on-one with the Predator alien, armed only with a knife.
Landham also appeared in 48 Hours, the 1979 street-gang classic The Warriors and many more. He had more than 50 acting credits to his name.
Apparently, before going mainstream, Landham starred in a number of porn flicks, but said he later regretted it and only did it because he needed the money.
Landham is survived by his son, William, and daughter, Priscilla.
