Senate Pledges To Support 6 Year Old Boy Run-over By Boko Haram In Chibok (photo)

The 8th Senate of Nigeria has pledged to keep supporting a 6-year-old boy From Chibok, Ali Ahmadu, who was crippled by a Boko Haram vehicle that ran him over in 2015.

According to the president of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, the boy is a reminder of the evils of violent extremism. In a statement made available to NairaNaijaNews, Saraki said;

Ali Ahmadu, a 6-year old boy from Chibok came to my office. Three years ago, little Ali was run over by a Boko Haram vehicle. As a result of the unfortunate incident at the hands of Boko Haram, Ali's spinal cord was severed.

To me, Ali is a reminder of the evils of violent extremism. He is one of the reasons why we continue to remain committed to stamping out terrorism. He will require surgery on his spinal cord.Moving forward, my colleagues and I in the 8th Senate will continue to offer support to him and his family.

We must all remember that we have come a long way in our fight to stamp out the insurgency that we once battled with. However, right now, there are a lot of families and people in our communities that are still bearing the brunt of extremism.We must also continue to pray for our men and women in uniform who fight to keep us safe.
