Some Nigerian celebrities in the entertainment industry have managed to make their relationships and marriages last, but for every duo who stands the test of time, others just couldn’t.
Some Nollywood actresses have been in marriages which crashed amidst several controversies which did not deter them from trying again and again.
We presents a list of Nollywood actresses who have headed to the altar more than just once.
1. Stephanie Okereke
Stephanie who is currently married to Linus Idahosa was once married to former Super Eagles defender, Chikelu Iloenyosi. Iloenyosi got married to Stephanie in 2004 but the union crashed in 2007.
2. Stella Damasus
Stella has been married three times. She married her first husband, Jaiye Aboderin, in 1999. The couple had two daughters before Jaiye died suddenly in 2004. Damsus re-married in 2007, this time to Emeka Nzeribe. The marriage lasted for seven months before a mutual agreement to divorce.
In 2011, she became associated with multiple award-winning Nollywood producer &director Daniel Ademinokan; the couple have been together ever since.
3. Bukky Wright
Veteran actress, Bukky had previously been married to Gboyega Amu who is the father of her two sons, shortly after separating from Amu, due to what she termed irreconcilable differences. After which she also reportedly married a well known Journalist, Femi Davies, then Bolaji Basia and Adewale Onitiri, all of which did not last.
4. Shan George
She first got married in 1985, when she was just fifteen years of age. She had two children for her first husband, whom she left in 1991 when she was 21. She later met and married Anthony Nwosisi but the marriage did not last.
5. Mercy Aigbe
Mercy Aigbe-Gentry who married to Lanre Gentry was a wife to an Igbo man and had a beautiful daughter for him, but the union couldn’t stand the test of time as it crashed few years later.
Mercy and Lanre officially tied the knots at the Ikoyi Registry in 2013 but the marriage is facing turbulent times.
6. Clarion Chukwurah
Clarion recently tied the nuptial knots with her U.S. based fiancé, Anthony Boyd making it her third marriage. She once had a relationship with afro-juju legend, Sir Shina Peters and bore a son, Clarence Peters after she ended her first marriage to a certain Mr. Abiola in 2003.
She then remarried in 2004 to Femi Oduneye popularly known as Femi Egyptian; they however, separated in 2006, after which they got back together about six years ago before they finally got divorced.
7. Ann Njemanze
She is the former wife of actor Segun Arinze and has a beautiful daughter before their marriage crashed in 2003. The Tinsel actress found love again in the waiting arms of a lecturer, Silver Ojieson, who is younger than her and on November 9, 2013, they signed the dotted lines.
However, there are unconfirmed speculations that the young union which was much celebrated crashed.
8. Foluke Daramola
She married Babatunde Sobowale in 2005, and the union ended in 2008 after two kids, on allegations wife battering and infidelity. The busty actress has since remarried and is happy with with her latest husband, Kayode Salako.
9. Monalisa Chinda
Monalisa first marriage was to Dejo Richards but the marriage did not withstand the test of time as it collapsed sooner than expected. The couple parted ways in 2009 after they had a daughter together. She later married Victor Tonye Coker in 2016.
10. Funke Akindele
Funke Akindele, popularly called Jenifa’s marriage to Mr Kehinde Oloyede can be said to be one of the shortest marriage in the history of Nollywood. She later found love in the arms of Music producer, JJC Skillz. The duo got married in 2016.
11. Lola Alao
Popular Nollywood actress, Lola Alao legalized her second marriage in the United States to American-based IT expert, Wale Ajibola in 2013. The Yoruba actress has a daughter from her previous marriage to ex-husband, Dare Ogunlana.
12. Regina Askia
The sexy mother was briefly married to Charles Orie, but she later moved on and married an American man, Ruddy Williams
