Man Stabs His Own Sister To Death Before Killing Himself In Horrible Family Tragedy. Photos

These are the first pictures of a man and his sister who died in a horrific 'family stabbing' blamed on the brother - that also left their mother fighting for her life. While the pair have not been officially identified by police, they have been named on Facebook as Anne Marie James and her brother Melvin James....

Police were called to the flat in Merry Hill, Wolverhampton, at 9.45am yesterday after receiving a 999 call about a domestic incident from someone inside.

Officers stormed the first floor apartment, in Highfield Court, and used stun grenades to distract the attacker Melvin and detain him, the Birmingham Mail reports. 

Anne-Marie, aged 33, was found with fatal stab wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

The 36-year-old attacker, brother Melvin, is understood to have then turned the knife on himself and also died a short time later.

Their 59-year-old mother was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds to her stomach and has undergone surgery but remains in a critical condition.

Tributes have been paid on Facebook.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating the incident after being notified by West Midlands Police.
