The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has revealed that his emergence in 2011 was incidental, as he was never prepared for it. Addressing newsmen, Monday in Owerri, the State Capital, the Governor disclosed that his coming into Government in 2011 was borne out of public desire for a change of Government.
The Governor said “I was never prepared to be Governor. Imo People wanted a change of Government, they did not actually vote for me, I came to government based on circumstance.
The Imo leader however gave himself thumbs up, by saying that history would be very kind to him, as he has developed the state for the benefits of even generations unborn.
Okorocha said “everything I met in the state has been turn to brand new. Government house, education, 27 general hospitals, flyover, Ikemba Ojukwu Center, Heros squares, and many of them are brand new.”
The Governor equally commended his administration for saying that he has fought kidnapping and other criminalities to a stand still in the state.
He also boasted that his Government has subdued poverty in the state, as more residents of the state are living happily because of the opportunities he has provided.
Governor Okorocha informed that his Government is not owing any bank in Nigeria or outside, as he is committed to handing over a clean state to his successor in 2019
