End Of The Road For Scammers Who Specializes In Printing Fake Money In Lagos. [Photo]

A group of fraudsters who specializes in printing fake naira notes have been caught by Lagos state police. Hope Ihesiaba, 33, and his brother, Ifeanyi – were arrested on Oluwakemi Street, Ojodu Abiodun area of Lagos State, punch reports.


The police were reportedly tipped-off by a woman, who sold foodstuffs in the area, that the suspects spent fake N1,000 notes.

Eighty pieces of fake N1,000 notes and two laptops were recovered from the suspects’ house. Two of their friends, Ijeoma and Paul, were also arrested for allegedly receiving and spending some of the fake notes. Hope, from Abia State, said he got the fake notes from a friend, Odiyi, in Aba, Abia State. .

He denied that he was the producer of the notes. He said he gave Odiyi N28,000 real money and got N80,000 fake naira notes in return. His words: "On Saturday, I went to buy a recharge card from a woman. She just checked the note and raised the alarm. I was arrested when she started shouting on me.".
