The state Police Commissioner, Mr. Musa Kimo, who spoke on the development, yesterday, said heavily armed Policemen have been deployed to the area to secure lives and properties.

He said the Police was making frantic effort to track those behind the incident, expressing hope that they will be arrested.

Community sources told the Vanguard that the suspected cultists invaded the community at about 9p.m., Saturday, shooting sporadically.

The sources, who did not want their names in print, said the action of the cultists caused so much tension as many residents scampered into the bush for safety.

One of the sources said an Okada rider was among those allegedly killed, adding that the rampaging cultists also extended to Edeoha community in the same local government where they also shot sporadically.
