The President of Nigeria, Muhammed Buhari has refused to accept the suggestions of the National Assembly of Nigeria (NAN), in respect to the 2016 budget. This is largely due to the many distortions that were allegedly discovered in the document, after it was given to NAN. Here are the 5 alleged distortions made by the lawmakers to the 2016 budget.
1. N4 billion removed from Ministry of Health budget and added to Code of Tribunal
2. Cost of 89 illegal roads without designs added to Works budget, 30 of them not Federal roads
3. Funds for works, power transmission, diverted by the lawmakers for tricycles, town halls, boreholes in their constituencies
4. 73 illegal projects added to Education budget - no designs available for the projects, no tenders conducted
5. Lawmakers slashed money for poor students by 50% in Education budget and added same to their states constituencies
Queen Elizabeth's II's 90th Birthday To Cost Over 1 Billion Pounds
According to The Sunday Times, over 1 billion pounds is the expected bill for a UK-wide celebration to mark Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday this year, according to a survey.
Almost half of all British public intend to mark the landmark event over April to June this year and more than a third are planning trips to pubs, bars and street parties. The Queen's actual and official birthdays April 21 and June 11 - respectively
