Kanu, on a three-day visit to the East African nation, was on hand to boost the morale of staff and patients as the Ugandan child in the village of Katanga was operated on under the auspices of KHF.
The two-time African footballer of the year revealed his joy at helping to save lives and providing inspiration to millions of kids who want to become successful footballers later in life.
Kanu Nwankwo who famously overcame a life-threatening heart defect to record tremendous accomplishments on the football field, admonished the teenagers to work very hard as “what you put in is what you get”.
The former Arsenal, Inter Milan and Ajax striker also took the time to show the eager kids some tricks of the game, claiming the feeling of camaraderie is “unbeatable”.
This will be the third successful heart surgery to be carried out by KHF and former Super Eagles captain has called for more support to facilitate their laudable efforts.
