The governorship candidate of Accord Party in Ekiti State, Mr. Kole Ajayi, has defected to the All Progressives Congress.
The event, which took place at Ward 4 in Ado Ekiti Local Government, was attended by the state Acting Chairman of AP, Mrs. Funmi Akinyemi, the state APC Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, and other party stalwarts...
Ajayi said he defected to the APC in accordance with the wishes of his people and the hope which the party had brought.
He pledged his loyalty to the party leadership at all levels and urged members to be loyal and upright in their activities.
The Ward Chairman, Mr. Sunday Omotosho, commended Ajayi for his decision to come back to the party.
He recalled that he contested under the defunct Alliance for Democracy, Ado Ekiti Constituency 1 in the state House of Assembly in 2003.
Omotosho enjoined him to use his wealth of experience to join hands with the leaders to build the party in the state.
Olatunbosun said the journey to send the Peoples Democratic Party packing from the state had begun.
“This is a season of harvest and a season of onslaught to send the PDP packing,” he said.
