The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano state has seized about 12.3kg of dangerous substances in the last quarter of the year...
The agency re-stated that youths in the state were still leading in the drug abuse index of the agency for the whole country.
The state NDLEA director, Alhaji Ahmadu Garba stated this while reviewing the year 2015 activities in the state.
He added that his office has made arrest of 676 offenders while 214 persons are currently standing trials at various courts in the state.
He commended officers and men of the Kano area office for their dedication to duty without which, he says the success story would not have been made possible.
Garba lamented the rising rate of drug abuse amongst youth including women in the state which he described as alarming and then appealed to parents, community leaders, Ulamas and other stakeholders to join hands with his agency to bring the menace under control for the betterment of the society.
He commended the cordial relationship between his agency and the state government charged staff to rededicate themselves for the task ahead in the coming year.
