Akure—DETECTIVES in Ondo State have shot dead two suspected armed robbers while 11 others were arrested over armed robbery incidences and car snatching operations.
Police Commissioner in the state Mike Ogbodu said this in Akure while briefing newsmen of the activities of the command..
Ogbodu said two other suspects who specialise in car snatching were also arrested by the men of the command.
According to him 14 stolen vehicles were recovered from the syndicate specialize in hijacking of trucks along Benin / Ore road
The Police boss said that one Ayo Okunmagba reported to the police in Ore that one of his trucks, loaded with petroleum product valued at about N4 million was hijacked at gunpoint at Akinfosile area of the state.
Ogbodu said his men swung into action and the truck was later recovered in a petrol filling station around J3 area along Lagos Ore road while offloading the product in a filling station.
