#crime :Gunmen invade Abuja-based cleric, Pastor Francis Irabor's house

The country home of an Abuja-based cleric, Pastor Francis Irabor, founder of Great Calling Ministry, GCM, in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State, has been invaded by gunmen...

The gunmen, it was gathered drove to the house around 2a.m., on Christmas Day, in a 504 saloon car with a concealed number plate. They overpowered the security-guard, forced him into the house, and met an elderly woman with a little girl.

The gunmen demanded for Pastor Francis Irabor and his family. The old woman replied them in Pidgin English that, “They don travel to Obodo Oyinbo.”

The gunmen, it was learned held the guard, ransacked the whole house and found nothing. They told the old woman that they had gone to his Abuja residence, but could not find the pastor. They promised to come back anytime.

The gunmen, angry that they missed their target, reportedly shot the guard and left him in a pool of his blood, taking him for dead. He was later rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

It will be recalled that Irabor recently escaped an assassination attempt in Abuja, when he was coming back from church. The suspected armed men shattered the windscreen of his SUV with gun-shots and escaped when they noticed that he was accompanied by a policeman.

He was also kidnapped on Abuja Lokoja expressway, when he was on his way back from Uromi in Edo State, where he attended the funeral ceremony of his in-law, though he miraculou-sly escaped after hearing the captors’ decision to behead him.
