#BIAFRA protest: 83 Pro-Biafrans arrested in Bayelsa, 1 reported dead in Anambra

The Indigenous People of Biafra held its ‘One Million Man March’ across the South-East, South-South and other locations within the country, and beyond...

In Anambra, over 30,000 people were reported to have gathered at Odumegwu Ojukwu Statue by Niger Bridge Head, where the protest-march began.

The protest by IPOB members brought to a halt, most commercial activities in the city, as the pro-Biafrans took over the streets.

Their protest was in response to the detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who was arrested by the Department of State Security on October 19, after just returning from the United Kingdom.

One person was reportedly shot dead by security operatives in the city, as the protesters blocked the Niger bridge for over two hours.

Meanwhile, in Bayelsa state, 83 members of the Biafra Movement were arrested during their version of the One Million Man March.

78 males and 5 females were arrested during a peaceful march, to also demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the Radio Biafra director.

Spokesperson of the Bayelsa state Police Command, Anisim Butswat, revealed that the 83 pro-Biafrans were arrested during a flag-raising ceremony of the Biafra Movement on the Mbiama-Yenagoa road.

Sahara Reporters quoted him to have said: “Those arrested are at the criminal Investigation Department, CID for Investigations and interrogations.”
