Following the spate of attacks and foiled arson attempts at some Police Stations and Formations across the country, Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, yesterday warned members of the public on the unsavoury implications of such inappropriate behaviour.
According to the IGP, “An attack on a Police Station is a criminal offence, and any person(s) involve in such act/action would be made to face the full wrath of the law”.
Consequently, the IGP directed all field Commanders to secure their Stations and Formations and to use every reasonable force permitted by law to protect our common heritage”.
A statement from Force headquarters in this regard signed by CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, Force public relations officer noted that “Members of the public are advised to explore available and appropriate channels to ventilate their grievances”.
