Director of Public Health Services in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Nnanna Onyekwere, who confirmed the development to newsmen, said two farms in Choba, Obio Akpor Local Government Area of the state have already been affected.
Similarly, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Domiari Harry, has appealed to operators of poultry houses in the state to draw the attention of the ministry to strange happenings around their birds.

He said the state government was already working to stem the spread of the disease.
