Coal City female football club of Enugu on Tuesday declared six players missing.
The declaration followed the players’ absence from the camp more than one month ago without the permission of the club’s management.
Team manager of the club, Mr Okey Nnamani, said in Enugu that the players left the club’s camp on July 2, 2015.
Nnamani said that the girls left the camp before the team’s first-leg encounter with its Ebonyi state opponent.
“After our last training before the club’s first-leg match with Ebonyi Queens of Abakaliki in July, these players refused to honour the match and since then, they have not reported for training or in camp.
“The players are Ifeoma Ogwegbe, Ogochukwu Onu, Chidinma Ani, Juliet Okwor, Uche Nwaigwe and Odinaka Omoha,” he said.

He said that the players left to unknown destinations and that report reaching him indicated that they were still within the country.
“From the information we have gathered so far, these players are still in Nigeria probably negotiating with other clubs.
“We are appealing to anybody that knows their whereabouts to contact the Enugu State Football Association or the management of Coal City Babes football club, Enugu.
“We meant well for these players and that is why we gave them the opportunity to showcase their talents through our darling club.
“We will part with them in a reasonable manner if they are not ready to work with us again,” Nnamani said. (NAN)
