2 killed, 11 injured in Oyo auto crash, along Ibadan, Ile-Ife express road.

At least two persons have died and 11 others seriously wounded in a ghastly motor accident that occurred on Wednesday night along Ibadan, Ile-Ife express road.

Also, the Oyo State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Mr. Yusuf Salami, yesterday, confirmed the accident, declaring that “two persons died and 11 injured in a ghastly accident along Ibadan-Ife expressway due to over speeding.”

Commander Salami noted that the accident was a head-on-collision between a coastal bus and a truck that occurred at kilometer 17, Osegere road along Ibadan-Ife expressway.

He emphasised that the accident which occurred at 7:05pm on Wednesday, was caused by over speeding on the part of the coastal bus driver.

According to him; “The coastal bus with registration number Abuja BB11ABC ran into an oncoming truck with registration number BGB38XA, when it was unable to control its speed, about 7.05pm and claimed the lives of 2 people while 11 were seriously injured.”

Salami said FRSC had deposited the dead victims, a male and a female passenger, at the Adeoyo Hospital, Yemetu area of Ibadan.

He said other victims had been admitted at the University Teaching Hospital, Ibadan for treatment
