PDP promises to stand by Saraki

Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its 49 senators in the Senate have promised not to abandon the Senate President, Bukola Saraki in his present travails with his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports New Telegraph

The party said it would continue to stand by Saraki as long as the rule of law, the rules of the Senate, the defence of democratic norms among others form the focus of Saraki’s leadership in the Senate.

The party noted that nothing has happened to rock the relationship between Saraki and his PDP colleagues that would warrant the party to withdraw its support for him.

Makanjuola Ogundipe, PDP’s Vice Chairman, South- West , who spoke on behalf of the party, advised the APC and those fanning the embers of discord in the National Assembly for personal reasons to come to terms with the political realities in the Assembly.
