Finance and Markets ( world bank openings for africans )

The Finance and Markets Global Practice delivers tailored development solutions with World Bank Group financial knowledge and convening services. The practice implements comprehensive solutions that integrate World Bank services (loans, credits, and risk management products) and IFC services (advisories and investments in private sector firms).

Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in positions of increasing complexity and responsibility.
    • Senior Specialist – at least 8 years + advanced degree
    • Specialist – at least 5 years + advanced degree
  • Advanced Degree (Masters or PhD) in a relevant field; ideally business administration, economics, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Expert with relevant experience gained in one or more of the following:
    • Regulatory and supervisory agencies
    • International financial institutions, and/or in private financial services firms
    • Central banks, ministries of finance, or other official financial sector agencies
  • Candidates should possess formal technical merit, and extensive development experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Financial sector regulation and supervision. Banking reform
    • Provision of financial services (direct provision of financial services; consulting; or international development)
    • Macro-financial issues, financial regulation and financial policies and their impact on financial stability and development, economic growth and poverty reduction
    • Access to finance/financial inclusion, rural finance and financial infrastructure
  • Sustained record of achieving significant results in a range of projects e.g. adjustment, development policy loans, investment lending, and technical assistance.
