Ekiti APC Vows To Monitor Spending By Fayose’s Administration

Gov. Ayo Fayose
A former Speaker of  the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Femi Bamisile, has said that his party will monitor the state government’s spending of the N2.1 billion recently approved by the federal government.

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress, APC, stakeholders meeting in Ado-Ekiti, the ex- lawmaker thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Government for extending the support to the state.

“President Buhari has given Ekiti a lifeline. He has rescued our people out of poverty and (Governor Ayo) Fayose must pay our workers. He must not divert the money,” he said. “The APC as an opposition party is monitoring the situation closely. Fayose will give account of how he spent the N2.1 billion .

He will also explain to EFCC how he spent the N22 billion released by FG on Federal roads constructed by Fayemi, because his immunity will go very soon.”

Mr. Bamisile said his party would return to power in the state in 2018 when governorship election is held there. The lawmaker, along with his 18 other APC lawmakers in the last Ekiti Assembly, failed to oust Governor Fayose, despite having an overwhelming majority. Their efforts were thwarted in the last period of their tenure when the governor locked up the assembly complex and mobilized residents of the state against them.

According to him, the loss suffered by former Governor Kayode Fayemi to Mr. Fayose was a temporary setback to the party, assuring that the party would reconcile all interests and bounce back to reckoning in the next dispensation. On the crisis rocking the party over the leadership of the National Assembly, he said, “We will always fight because such is normal in politics. But while fighting, we must always display extreme loyalty to our party.

That is what I believe in. “The best way we can show this is by believing in any reconciliation efforts put in place in resolving crisis. I quite believe that we shall overcome and come out stronger
