The small, serene community of Amakor-Amazano in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State came very much alive on Friday when the remains of Pa Felix Emenike Ndukwu, father of Super Eagles and Fenerbahce FC of Turkey striker Emmanuel Emenike, were committed to mother earth.
Pa Emenike died at the age of 73 on Wednesday, May 27 in a hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, NFF’s Assistant Director (Communications), Ademola Olajire, Super Eagles’ Assistant Coach, Valere Hounadinou, Super Eagles’ players Kenneth Omeruo, Ogenyi Onazi and Joel Obi all stormed the sleepy community to be part of the gale of activities to bid farewell to the renowned and very successful businessman.
There were also a number of Nollywood stars led by Charles Awunnor, star musician KC Fresh, active and retired footballers, politicans, top officials of the Njaba local government council, members of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, youth groups, community leaders and other football stakeholders.
After requiem mass at St. Michael's Catholic Church in the town, the remains of the departed Pa Emenike Ndukwu were committed to earth in the family house, before guests were entertained at an open field in the community.
