John Obi Mikel ‘to leave Chelsea after agreeing Al-Ain transfer’

The Nigeria international has won ten major trophies during his nine-year stay at Stamford Bridge, but has fallen a long way down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.

And it appears that Mikel will now finally be moving on after former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan revealed that the 28-year-old will is set to join him at Al-Ain.

‘I heard it this week that he has agreed terms with Al Ain and will most definitely be playing for us next season,’ he told Ghanaian television.

‘It’s great news for us because Mikel is a very good player and very experienced.
‘It will be exciting playing with him in the same team, because I believe both of us, with the help of our other colleagues, can do more for the club.’
