The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has sent a warning to the Boko Haram terrorist group that they should expect a surprise package from the President Muhammadu Buhari-administration.
Oyegun described the resurgence of Boko Haram suicide bombers and other daring attacks on Maiduguri as an attempt by the sect to challenge the resolve of the Buhari administration to move against their criminal activities.
"He is giving it top priority. There is nothing like life. He was elected to protect Nigerian lives and that is what he is precisely giving first priority to. He has spoken about that, security throughout the campaign, the insurgents trying to test his resolve. I have a feeling that they will be in for surprises," he said.
There have been a number of suicide attacks on Maiduguri and some towns in the North east in recent times, which is fuelling concern about the ability of the new government to wage the war against terror.
