Eight governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday called for the resignation of National Chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun, reports Daily Independent.
The demand for Oyegun’s resignation was tabled at a meeting the governors had with the Chairman at the party’s secretariat.
Oyegun, who was presiding over the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting at the time, had to excused himself to meet the governors.
The governors, who came to meet with Oyegun included Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) and Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa).
The meeting was so tensed that El-Rufai stormed out of the secretariat, refusing to answer any questions from newsmen.
