Not all the pastors you see experienced a typical christian home while growing up. Some were born into Muslim families. See the five popular Nigerian pastors that were born into a Muslim home.
Pastor Tunde Bakare: The founder of Latter Rain Assembly and was born to Muslim parents whom he did not grow up to know.He was born on November 11,1954 in Ogun state, Nigeria. In addition to his religious beliefs, he is also a strong critique of the Nigerian government. In 2011, Muhammadu Buhari announce Tunde Bakare as his running mate for the presidential elections but his party, Congress for Progress Change,CPC, lost to Peoples Democratic Party
David Oyedepo: David Oyedepo,60, was born in September 24,1954, to a Muslim family, in which his dad was a Muslim healer. He was raised by his grandmother who introduced him to Christianity. He is the founder of Living Faith Church popularly known as Winner’s chapel, which is said to have the biggest auditorium according to the Guinness Book of Records. He is also the chancellor of Landmark University and Covenant University. He was massively criticised when he slapped a young girl in church saying she was a witch.
Mathew Ashimolowo: He is the Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London. He converted to Christianity at the age of 22 after the death of his father.
Paul Jinadu: Paul Jinadu is the General Overseer of The New Covenant church. He was a devoted Muslim as a child till he went to the United Kingdom to further his secondary education in 1957. He converted to Christianity after the Lord appeared to him. He decided to abandon his medical doctor dreams and became a full time pastor.
George Adeboye: He is the founder of Rhema Chapel International. His father was the first idol worshipper before converting to Islam.After a while, he became christian. He revealed in an interview that he was a member of a cult group for eight years then gave his life to Christ in 1980.
