Three persons died while 10 others were injured in an road crash which at Onipepeye village, along the Sagamu-Siun-Abeokuta Expressway in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
Two commercial vehicles, a Nissan Primera, with number plate LSD 770 BZ, and a Space Wagon marked GGE 950 CQ were involved in the crash.
The vehicles were travelling in the opposite direction, before one of them lost control, swerved to the lane of the oncoming car before colliding with another car.
One of the lucky survivors, narrating how the accident happened, said the Primera car was heading to Sagamu from Abeokuta when the driver suddenly lost control and swerved to the other side of the dual carriage road, and collided with the Space wagon heading for Abeokuta.
He said the casualty figure was high because both vehicles were on top speed at the time of the incident.
The injured were rushed to the hospital in Abeokuta while the corpses were deposited at the morgue.
The Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the crash but promised to get to our correspondent to confirm the number of casualties.
