President Zuma arrived in Abuja Nigeria last night for the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Buhari of Nigeria. According to his quaters, Zuma’s trip will be a ”working visit” and besides Buhari’s inaugurations, it will also give the two presidents the opportunity to discuss issues of mutual concern.
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) had urged the South African President to stay away from Buhari’s inauguration, following the spate of xenophobic attacks and the way his government handled it. The group furthermore threatened to storm the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, should Zuma step into the country’s airport.
