Children’s Day: Education main focus of Buhari’s govt – Aisha

Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, wife of Nigeria’s president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has restated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will place education at the top of its priority list.
In a statement released to mark this year’s International Children’s Day on May 27, she assured Nigerians of the incoming government’s commitment to the development of children.
“Education is going to be the main focus of the incoming APC government,” she said.
She added that, “our children are our future and Education of our children is the best way to secure the future of our country.”
Aisha Buhari also called for the speedy implementation of the Child Rights Act which has been passed by the National Assembly, but yet to be adopted by several states.
The wife of the president-elect also assured Nigerians that, despite the need to eradicate the menace of insecurity all over the country and restoring normalcy in the north east with emphasis on encouraging children to return to school and making schools safer.
She extends her best wishes to children all over the country with specially reference to the less privileged.
