The remaining eight teams in the competition will find out their fate imminently after surviving Thursday's last-16 second legs
The likes of Fiorentina, Wolfsburg and holders Sevilla will discover their Europa League fate in Friday's quarter-final draw, which is due to take place from 13:00CET in Nyon.
Rafa Benitez's Napoli were the first club to make sure their name would be in the hat by eliminating Dinamo Moscow in Russia in Thursday's last-16 second leg.
Although five Italian sides were involved in the previous Europa League draw, Fiorentina were the only Serie A team other than Napoli to reach the next stage after they smashed Roma 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.
Torino won their second leg 1-0 but it was not enough to defeat Zenit on aggregate, while Roberto Mancini's poor European record continued as Inter only increased their 3-1 first-leg deficit as Wolfsburg ran out 2-1 victors at San Siro.
Everton were the last Premier League team involved in European football in 2014-15 but were soundly beaten by Dynamo Kiev to be deservedly dumped out. They were joined in the quarter-finals by fellow Ukrainian side Dnipro, who eliminated Ajax on away goals after extra-time.
Reigning champions Sevilla swept the threat of fellow Spanish side Villarreal aside to keep their hopes of back-to-back triumphs alive, while Club Brugge's dream of treble glory remains on track as they reached the last eight of a European competition for the first time since 1995.
The first legs of the quarter-final ties will be played on April 16, with the return fixtures scheduled for April 23. No teams are seeded by Uefa and clubs from the same country are able to draw each other.
