An early morning fire outbreak on Hassan Idowu Street in Aguda area of Surulere, Lagos, created panic on Friday, forcing frightened residents of house 7 out of the building.
Saturday PUNCH learnt that the fire originated from the second floor of the six-flat apartment building.
Men of the Lagos State Fire Service were promptly called and later put out the fire, it was learnt.
A spokesperson the service, Mr. Ahmadu Shakiru, who was speaking on behalf of the LSFS’s Director, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe, explained that the men of the service were alerted at 6.05.
“The fire had not spread beyond the second floor when we got there and quickly curtailed. Property destroyed were also minimal,” he said.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
