Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has revealed that Peter Odemwingie has apologised to him, and that he never lost contact with Stoke City forward

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has revealed that Peter Odemwingie has apologised to him, and that he never lost contact with Stoke City forward.

The 32-year-old was disappointed after he was left out of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations squad and used Twitter to express his dissatisfaction, which did not sit well with the Super Eagles mentor.

Keshi has since been under-pressure to recall the Potters attacker and strengthen his FIFA World Cup squad, but the coach says "there was never any problem", despite the player's international exile.

"Me and Osaze (Odemwingie) have been speaking all the while when it was reported that we had issues," the former Nigeria international told reporters.

"There was never any problem between us. It was the same thing with (Super Eagles captain) Joseph Yobo. It was just the media reporting that I had problems with Osaze and Yobo when we never had any problems at all.

"He (Odemwingie) has apologised to all Nigerians (who were hurt by his remarks on Twitter). He also said sorry to me. I have no problems with him. Everything is fine," he added.

While Yobo was considered for the recent friendly against Mexico, it is hpwever still unclear if the Odemwingie will get to add to his 55 national caps.
